Yinn Ooi, founder of GUNG Jewellery, has a quiet steadiness that draws people in.
She moves with intention — thoughtful in her choices, measured in her pace, and clear about what matters. This clarity shapes the way she leads, creates, and connects.

GUNG was never just about jewellery. Each piece carries meaning, moving with a woman through different seasons of her life — blending elegance, identity, and self-expression.
Yinn values pause and space. Creativity can’t be forced, and stepping back often leads to clarity. The same restraint guides how she grows her business and builds meaningful connections.
🌻 How do you set your vibe for the day?
I start the day with coffee, it’s a must for me. Breakfast follows, and then a quiet moment to check in with myself before the day begins. That pause helps me feel grounded before moving into work.
🛋️ How do you relax?
Doing nothing, which is surprisingly hard for me, but also what helps the most. I also enjoy jogging in the park; being in nature really helps me slow down and reset.
💼 How would you describe your work to someone outside of your field?
I design jewellery, but more than that, I create pieces that carry meaning. Each design is meant to move with a woman through different seasons of her life, blending everyday elegance with intention.

🖌️ Do you ever get a creative block when designing jewellery? How do you navigate that?
Yes, and I’ve learned not to fight it. When I feel blocked, I step away from designing and return to living, observing, reflecting, or revisiting old ideas. Creativity always comes back when there’s space.
🧠 What advice would you give someone who wants to start their own creative or jewellery business?
Start with clarity, not perfection. Understand why you’re creating, who you’re creating for, and be patient with the process. Creativity matters, but consistency, self-trust, and resilience are what truly build a business.

✨ You’ve built a brand centered on authenticity. How do you personally stay true to yourself in high-pressure business situations?
I pause before reacting. I come back to my values and ask whether a decision aligns with who I am and the brand I want to build long-term. Growth shouldn’t come at the cost of integrity.
🤝 Do you enjoy networking?
I enjoy meaningful conversations more than traditional networking. I connect best when there’s sincerity, shared values, and genuine exchange.
🌐 Best encounter at a networking event?
The best encounters are often the unplanned ones when a casual chat becomes a genuine conversation about life, creativity, or shared values, rather than business.

💖What's your favourite thing about Mole?
The connection and individuality it represents. Mole feels thoughtful and personal, it creates space for people to express who they are, and that really resonates with me.
